EN Antje Engelmann is an artist, performer, filmmaker, and educator. In her multimedia installations, sound collages, essay films, videos, and performances, she explores the interconnection between personal and social narratives, drawing on ethnographic, sociological, and visual theory perspectives. At the center of her practice is the body as a repository of knowledge, a space of memory, and a vessel for care, labor, and transgenerational experiences. Her works address motherhood, feminized labor, and the interconnection of colonial exploitation, ecological stewardship, the climate crisis, and societal fragility. Engelmann’s works have been exhibited internationally and have received numerous awards, including the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Fellowship, a DAAD Fellowship, the working grant from the Kunstfonds Foundation, and the Berlin Senate Fellowship for Los Angeles. She is currently a visiting professor at the Berlin University of the Arts.

DE Antje Engelmann ist Künstlerin, Performerin, Filmemacherin und Lehrende. In ihren multimedialen Installationen, Soundcollagen, Essayfilmen, Videos und Performances untersucht sie die Verknüpfung persönlicher und gesellschaftlicher Narrative unter Einbezug ethnografischer, soziologischer und bildtheoretischer Perspektiven. Im Zentrum ihrer Praxis steht der Körper als Wissensspeicher, Erinnerungsraum und Träger von Care, Arbeit und transgenerationalen Erfahrungen. Ihre Arbeiten beschäftigen sich mit Mutterschaft, feminisierter Arbeit sowie der Verbindung von kolonialer Ausbeutung, ökologischer Fürsorge, Klimakrise und gesellschaftlicher Fragilität. Engelmanns Arbeiten wurden international ausgestellt und mehrfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Stipendium, einem DAAD-Stipendium, dem Arbeitsstipendium der Stiftung Kunstfonds sowie dem Berliner Senatsstipendium für Los Angeles. Aktuell ist sie Gastprofessorin an der Universität der Künste Berlin.
